Happy Halloween!

A happy Halloween to all.

My hopes to blog more this October have been thwarted, but I'm going to make up for it overloading today with posts counting down the hours left during the best holiday of the year.

First, a sad announcement, my own yard haunt and decorating is on hiatus this year. I've had to cancel my big night of fun for 2013.

My life has changed over the past several months. I'm no longer living in the home I did. The reason why is a long sad personal story that I don't want to dwell on today.

Needless to say, I'm going to be a bit down tonight not being what I hoped it would, but I'm determined to enjoy it all the same and look forward to next year.

  1. Happy Halloween, Dave! Even if your personal haunt wasn't able to happen take some comfort knowing all your amazing work and tutorials have inspired countless others and they have a little Lowe inspiration in their yards!

    Hope all is well,

    Michael

  3. Happy Halloween to you too Dave! I'm so sorry to hear you've been having these problems and I know it must be killing you not to have the haunt up and running. Take some time out to relax and enjoy the holiday, you deserve it.

  5. So many of us Halloween junkies seem really down on our luck this year for some reason. I hope all is well soon. Wishing you the best...

  6. I'm having a depressingly low-key Halloween myself. As Mr. Adney says above, there's always next year. Here's hoping you've already seen the worst of whatever your sad story was, and the rest of this year treats you better.

  7. Happy Halloween Dave & Devin. I'm sure your old neighbour's miss you and your haunt terribly. I have my own little ode to you in my dining room with our pet bat. (She's on my blog). Thanks much for your inspiration and hope that 2014 is going to be SPECTACULAR for you. xo

  9. So sorry to hear that your living situation has changed drastically, I hope you find solace that your haunt is alive in lesser forms across many yards, mine included. And I hope you find happier times ahead soon.

  10. Oh no! If anyone deserves to have a wonderful Halloween, it's you! Maybe 2014 will find you and your zombies terrifying a new bunch of kids. Who knows what's lurking behind the next bend?!

  11. Crossing my fingers for you hard. Please know that your props always make me smile; various "handmade" items lurked throughout my house this year, (and a man eating plant is in my garden year round). I hope that, in some small way knowing that you've seeded many creepy houses helps a tiny bit.
